The Company

Hangers Cleaners is a unique business in Arkansas, the only dry cleaners in our state that doesn’t use toxic chemicals to process clothes. We use carbon dioxide and specialized “green” detergents, resulting in clean clothes without that toxic chemical residue or smell. Furthermore, clothes that have been dry cleaned with this process feel much better to the touch and last a lot longer than traditional dry cleaning approaches. One European study shows that clothes last an average of 40% longer when dry cleaned with this technology. The CO2 dry cleaning process has won many supporters including the EPA, Greenpeace, the Sierra Club and, in Arkansas, thousands of very loyal Hangers customers.

 

The Technology

Our process has been studied and recommended by the EPA as a leading alternative to traditional dry cleaning methods. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is naturally abundant in our environment, and it can be collected as a by-product of many industrial processes. Ownership and Management

In August, 2006, Hangers of Arkansas was purchased by two Little Rock businessmen, Wes Hall and Jim Merritt. Wes and Jim are long-time friends and business partners. They formerly led a local financial services and software company, Univest Financial Group, which they sold to Midland Loan Services and PNC Bank in October of 2000.

 

When Wes and Jim purchased Hangers, they knew that they needed another partner: someone with cleaning industry experience and a sterling reputation who could manage the day-to-day operations. So the next step was to conduct a search for that special candidate who could assume these responsibilities. After interviewing many prospects, Scott Hailey, one of the most knowledgeable people in the cleaning industry in Arkansas, joined Hangers as General Manager of the business.

 

Scott has been in the dry cleaning business in Little Rock for the past 25 years. He has a reputation with many local customers for quality work and excellent customer service. As you can imagine, Scott has formed a strong opinion about Hangers Cleaners and this technology: “Hangers Cleaners offers a different and superior product. My goal is to provide an unmatched cleaning product and the best customer service in our state, and establish Hangers as the premier cleaners in Central Arkansas.”

 

In addition to our state-of-the-art plant, Hangers currently operates several retail stores and we are searching for additional sites. Our goal is to add several more retail stores and routes in the coming years in order to provide more convenient access to all of our customers in Central Arkansas Hangers Cleaners is truly a unique product, and we are very excited about the quality service that this company can provide to so many people in our community.
